School Tips: Doing Well In School.....

With all this Halloween planning, it is easy to get distracted, especially at school! And though this might be true, you have to stay focus and do well. Make sure you are doing all of your homework and make sure you are paying attention in class. If you don't, there won't be any Halloween Party or trick or treating because you are going to be grounded or in time out and what kid wants that! That's scarier than any Boogie Man under your bed or black cat crossing your path as you are walking to school, making you accidentally step on a crack in the sidewalk that is rumored to break your mom's back! School isn't just for nerds, its also for kids who want to do great things when they grow up and......trick or treating or throwing really awesome parties is one of them!

Tips: More Help With Planning For Halloween

In an effort to help you this spooky October, I have made it my mission to find great places to help assist you and this post is no different......

Ink Garden, an online customization site is a site that allows you to personalize over 3,500 items! Imagine that 3,500 items! And with this holiday season coming up, you need a place that has a range of products, that are reliable, cost friendly, and fluid enough to allow you to do what you wish. Choose from an unlimited number of pictures from their picture gallery to personalize your purchases when ordering your item or better yet, use your own picture or create one from scratch. It is that easy!

The two items that I know you will need are: cards and Halloween goodie bags!

First off on our list are invitation cards! Even if you aren't using these as invitation cards, you can simply use them as cards with spooky sayings on them as you give them to trick or treaters who come clamoring at your door asking for candy! Or, give them to parents in your neighborhood to let them know a party is at your house and everyone's invited. You can even send some with your kids too so they can let all their friends know at school that a party is a brewing at your house.....cue witch laugh--"hehehehe!!!" These are fun, spooky, and neat cards you will enjoy! Best of all you save and get free shipping on your first purchase!

Shop Custom Cards & Stationary at InkGarden! 50% Off Your Entire Order!
Next on our list, goodie bags! Whether you go out with your kids trick or treating or are inviting people over for your event, you need goodie bags! And not just any goodie bag, rather, you want these to stand out! Add your child's personal flare as they dress up like Mummies and Witches screaming : "treat or treat give me something good to eat!" Or likewise if you decide to bring kids over, make it official and re-memorable by customizing their bags to remember this day when they leave. I know this will come in handy as I am preparing and gearing up for my nephew's Halloween themed birthday party! I am definitely going to use this approach and boy does it help to save in the process while being creative and festive!

Tips: Not Losing Yourself....

In school you can go through a lot of ups and downs. Trying to fit in is one of them. Everyone wants to be popular and everyone wants someone to sit with at lunch or play with them on the monkey bars.  Do you how to do that?  The best way to do that though is to simply be the oh so special you that no one else can be! I have been there, I know :-) !  It will save you time from people uncovering the not true you and it save you from friends who are not really your friends. Kids like honest kids. Kids like other kids that they can relate to. If you aren't being honest, you can never know what you and Billy Bob or Sam I am have in common! Maybe you all like eating green eggs and ham on a plane or heck, even on a train! Someone likes the color purple just like you and even jumping in mud puddles when it is raining. When I was honest and plain ol' me with my friends, I discovered these things. Who knew we all like the Power Rangers and Pokemon the First Movie? It is easy and all you have to do is take the first step. Never loose yourself to anyone or anything!

Tips: Back to School/ The importance of friends.....

Hey Y'all... I'm Back!!! After getting settled into school, I am here again to give you all a tip I am sure will come in handy! But enough of that, let's dive right in...

How does it feel going back to school?! Is it fun?! Is it exciting?! I am sure it is. I can imagine all the old friends that you met up with again and the new ones who will be familiar faces too in no time. This goes for you all who are at a new school too! I know you were excited to discover a new bunch of kids with some of them coming to a new school just like you!!! Hmmmpp...you know, this reminds me of the fun times I had going to school. I can vividly remember playing at recess with my friends and just doing all the fun stuff that us kids do! And what make this more memorable is that I still hang out with them to this day. Because of this this, it brings me to my tip of the week: The importance of friends.

Friends are important. They are there for you when you are down and they are there to share and make memorable to times with. They are even there to help you discover things that you never knew about...even if those things are about yourself! How many times did you not something but your best friend did? Or how about when you were scared of something and your friend scared or not, walked fearlessly with you it? It is important to treat those friends right and to always be there for them too whether you are sitting with them at lunch or giggling next to them in class after telling a really funny joke! Friends are important and special just like you. And I promise you those friends will last a lifetime. Who knows.....that good friend could even be YOU!

What makes a good friend? Are you a good friend? Leave comments below!

Family Tips School Edition: Preparing for First Day of School......

It is that time of the year again where you pick out that newly bought outfit, shoes, and, backpack for that first day of school! It is fun to go back to school better than ever whether it be at the same school  or a totally new one. Seeing old friends is exciting. Making new ones, is even more exciting. But while this can be fun some, for others it can be very scary and unsettling. Maybe going back to school for some can be not so cool because they didn't have friends or they were bullied. Or maybe going to a new school can be uncomfortable because we are going somewhere we have never been before. Because things like this happen to kids like you and me, I want to make sure we have a game plan on how to go back to school with a new attitude so you can make the most of your school adventure!

One tip I can give to you for today is to: NOT BE SCARED! If you go into school being afraid, you are going to create something to be afraid of and you don't want that. Think of the time you had from school as the time you spent building your invisible armor to put on so can handle anything that comes your way! Coming to school happy and positive will invite you to meet some new and great friends with some of them being kids you weren't cool with the year before. Know that being your unique self is the best way to have a great time because everybody likes people that are themselves. Besides, someone is always feeling how you feel. You will never know until you be yourself that, you will always find some things in common with others you never thought you had!

Do you have a kid who is just wont drink water? If you do, then I have the solution just for you! All you need is a lemon, some ice water, and a cup. Step 1: Roll the lemon to get it loose. Step 2: once it is loose, cut it and squeeze it into to the cup full of water. Step 3: Stir. Step 4: give it to that kid who is on a no water diet! And there you have it! The solution to all your no water drinking child problems. I am sure that after following these steps, your kid will be wanting to drink more water all the time!

Tip Of The Week: Sibling Rivalry!

Sibling Rivalry. It is something a lot of siblings go through that can leave one angry and mad. Who is better at this or who can do that more can weigh a kid down. And two siblings not being able to stand each other can be super tuff and even worse when… you share a room! And who wants that? I know I don’t. So to help in this problem, here are some ways I found to help with: sibling rivalry! 1. No comparing each other! You and your brother or sister are special and are not always good at the same things. No two are the same and that is ok. If one sister is good at singing and the other is good and playing piano, don’t be mad at each other instead teach each other and make a band! If one person can’t do what the other can do, pat them on the back and celebrate what they are good at. 2. It is not competition! One sibling having longer hair then the other or a different type is nothing to compete about! Nor is the tone of your skin. Moreover, if your brother is taller and you are shorter, don’t sweat it. Who says you being short is a bad thing? If someone does say that just know that it is there problem and not yours. And the final tip number 3 is No bossing each other around! Nobody likes a bossy person. If you are an older sibling, you can always give advice and tell your younger siblings things for their own good but never do it in a bossy way. This only makes them not listen even more. This also goes for younger siblings too. And that means not using your parents to boss your older sibling around when you can’t get your way! With all of that being said, you all should get along. You all are sibling for a reason and you should always do your best in getting along with one another. You will find in the end that you all need each other and have a lot more in common than you first thought!

TIPS #1

Family Tip #1,

It is the summer. Kids on vacation and you don't know what to do. Knowing kids, I feel the best way to  not have a bored kid is to do things that they like and make it fun! Go to the beach, see a movie or take them out for ice cream. Even simple things like coloring with them will make time spent with each other fun! Everybody knows how time flies when your having fun right! Tap into the inner child that you have (or forgotten about) and before you know it, you'll be having just as much fun as they are!
